Be Prepared & Join us

Is your child equipped to navigate the challenges of adolescence and emerge as a confident leader? Troop 340 scouting goes beyond —it’s a transformative journey that prepares youth for the path ahead. By immersing scouts in the values and lessons of the Scouting program, we cultivate an environment where they not only grow but thrive. Guided by the Scout Oath and Scout Law, Troop 340 becomes a training ground for the leaders of tomorrow. It’s not just about being prepared for outdoor adventures; it’s about instilling a readiness to face life’s complexities with resilience and wisdom. In Troop 340, your youth doesn’t just learn about leadership; they embody it, fostering growth that extends far beyond the scouting journey.

Camping & Hiking

Camping and hiking in scouting are like stepping into a gateway of adventure and camaraderie. The thrill of setting up tents, surrounded by the symphony of nature’s nocturnal melodies, creates a sense of unity among scouts. The crackling campfire becomes the storyteller, weaving tales of past expeditions and igniting the flame of curiosity for the uncharted trails ahead. Hiking, with its rhythmic cadence of boots on the trail, transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Each step is a brushstroke on the canvas of exploration, revealing hidden wonders and fostering teamwork. As the sun sets and the campsite comes alive with laughter and the aroma of a well-deserved meal, the essence of scouting emerges—forging lasting memories and a deep connection with the great outdoors.

Accountability & Leadership

In scouting, accountability and leadership intertwine like two sides of the same coin, forming the backbone of a scout’s character. A true leader in the scouting community not only guides and inspires but also shoulders the weight of responsibility. Accountability is the compass that directs every action, as scouts learn that their choices ripple through the fabric of the entire troop. Whether it’s ensuring the safety of fellow scouts during outdoor adventures or taking charge of a group project, a scout’s commitment to accountability defines the essence of leadership. It’s about more than just giving orders; it’s about being a reliable, trustworthy presence that others can depend on. Through the journey of scouting, individuals cultivate not only outdoor skills but also a profound understanding that genuine leadership is rooted in accountability—each step taken with a conscious awareness of the impact on the collective spirit of the troop.
